Students for South Bend Discount Program
Information for Businesses
What is the Students for South Bend Discount Program?
Students for South Bend is a tri-college discount initiative that aims to make local college students more aware of the different businesses South Bend and Mishawaka have to offer by providing discounts for student shoppers. In conjunction with the student government organizations at Saint Mary’s and Holy Cross Colleges, Notre Dame student government aims to increase incentive for college students to support local businesses. With endorsement from both the St. Joseph’s Chamber of Commerce and Downtown South Bend, Students for South Bend is currently seeking to enlist businesses and restaurants that have interest in offering local college students goods and services at a discounted rate.
How does it work?
Students from Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s, and Holy Cross receive the Students for South Bend discount by presenting a valid student ID from their respective university or college. The discount to be offered is at the discretion of the participating business. No discounts can be applied to the sale of alcohol.
What are the benefits of participating in the Students for South Bend Discount program?
On top of increased student benefits, all participants will receive a Students for South Bend window decal to mark their membership in the program. Promotion of the program will be included in the Notre Dame Student government website, Offcampus.nd.edu, and the Student Government websites of Saint Mary’s and Holy Cross Colleges. In addition to these free forms of advertisement, you may choose to put an ad in The Observer, our daily campus newspaper.
How can I join?
All Collegiate Students with a valid Notre Dame, St. Mary’s, or Holy Cross College ID card are automatically eligible for the Student for South Bend discounts. All interested businesses that would like to participate can email Katy Zemlock at kzemlock@nd.edu for more information.
